Payroll is a part of nearly every company’s accounting and requires accuracy, meticulousness and the ability to quickly adapt to different situations. Data security is also very important in the payroll accounting. Dealing with data on salaries and employees requires special care and automated solutions.

At Grant Thornton Baltic, we offer payroll as one of the accounting services and it can be described with just those above notions: automated, meticulous, accurate, confidential and adaptive to changes. Our solutions are flexible and we meet clients’ expectations and needs. Our team has comprehensive knowledge and experience with payroll software such as Persona, Palk365, Taavi Palk, SAF and Merit Palk.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution in payroll, since employee incentive and pay packages are very different – additional leave and holidays, bonus pay, special principles for chargeable hours, cumulative working time calculation etc. In cooperation with software developers, we have come up with flexible and secure solutions. For example, the pay stubs sent to employees are only accessible with mobile ID and protected by password.

For clients we do not provide full accounting service to, we have developed solutions that allow clients to easily, in one motion, import payroll entries into their accounting system. We make sure that salary payments and payment of payroll taxes reach both the employees and the Tax and Customs Board in time.

In addition, payroll service includes filing statistical reports and interaction with the Social Insurance Board and Tax and Customs Board.

We have experienced payroll specialists in Tartu and Tallinn and the client’s location is no obstacle for us. Our clients are located across Estonia and often the client’s contact person is based abroad.

We are constantly improving payroll service and use automated and integrated solutions. We have implemented the “four eyes principle” and we keep track of every stage in the process using our internal control procedures.

Payroll service at Grant Thornton Baltic is just as old as the company itself. In the beginning, payroll was merely concerned with accounting for salaries and filing tax returns, but now the service is intertwined with HR services where we are also able to support our clients.

Our long-term cooperation partner, the global business service provider ADP International recognized us for our long-term cooperation, giving us a Partner Excellence Award. The service we provide to ADP International is audited each year by an external auditor and we have met all audit requirements.

Besides the abovementioned solutions we also offer tax advice to our payroll clients. Our tax specialists have extensive experience in cross-border taxation of employees and offer clients training concerning tax changes.

We have very good specialists in labour law, together with them we help clients draft, amend or terminate employment contracts. We advise on how to implement non-compete clause and confidentiality clauses and help develop job descriptions and internal procedures.

We support clients in HR services and recruitment. We help clients recruit personnel and prepare and systematize human resource documentation. Based on client needs, we also conduct HR surveys.
